Interconnect Engineering is one of nine sections within the Subsystem Design and Architecture Department. The Interconnect Engineering section provides support and expertise in designing, modeling, and documenting electrical interconnects including harnesses and stacking interconnects.

Job Description:

A Section Head within the Subsystem Design and Architecture Department would be expected to lead a section of approximately 5-10 engineers including involvement in gate reviews and design reviews, be involved in performance management and career development activities, participate in hiring efforts, ensure effective and efficient program execution to reduce risk/cost through engagement with program IPTs, and be an active participant on the functional leadership team supporting business activities within the Electrical Systems Directorate of Raytheon Missile Systems.

Required Skills:

The applicant must have extensive experience with electrical interconnect design and test, an understanding of electrical subsystem design, and an awareness of the mechanical issues related to interconnects. The applicant must have demonstrated an ability to learn and effectively use modern electrical interconnect design and modeling tools.

The applicant must be able to demonstrate good written and oral communication skills and the ability to function in a dynamic team environment. In relevant situations, the applicant must have demonstrated leadership behavior that conforms to Raytheon leadership values and behaviors.

The applicant must be capable of collaborating with others to develop the vision for the Interconnect Engineering section and communicating this vision with functional and program leaders. Also, the applicant must help the section to develop to support the vision.

Please Note: This position can be a Sr. Electrical Engineer II or Principal Electrical Engineer based on the candidate’s qualifications as they relate to the skills, experience and responsibility requirements for the position.

Candidates for these positions should have a minimum of 8 years of electrical interconnect development experience. The candidate should have a strong relevant technical background as well as strong communication and leadership skills.

Desired Qualifications:

It is desired that the applicant have leadership and management training and experience.

It is desired that the applicant have skills and experience in the development and management of Integrated Master Schedules (IMS), a basic understanding of earned value management, and the ability to estimate future work.

Required Education:

Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Electrical & Computer Engineering, or Engineering Physics.
