The Inside Systems Engineer is a consultative sales, technology and solution focused specialist who creates great client intimacy with their technical expertise focused on our solutions. The Inside Systems Engineer is required to have experience with providing quotes using Cisco Commerce Quoting Tool for Cisco Security Solutions, and Route Switch Solutions and other various IT Vendors: Cisco, Palo Alto, Check Point, Fortinet or other Security & Route Switch IT Vendors & Experience with Developing Quotes for Managed Service Solutions is a plus or Certifications such as CCENT, CCNA, or CCNP or Training within the Cisco Partner Sales Academy or other IT Security / Route Switch Vendors is plus.

In addition to being viewed as a trusted technical advisor to the client, the Inside Systems Engineer (ISE) will also have regional responsibility for solution design, supporting the Systems Engineers s within the team they are associated with and transition of projects back to the sales team.

The Inside Systems Engineer provides pre-sales technical support and expertise in analyzing client requirements, in conjunction with the client’s current network and system capabilities, and ensuring technical solutions will accomplish the client’s objectives by generally interfacing with the Systems Engineers, Consulting Systems Engineers, or Principal Solution Architects engaged in the opportunity.

This role requires strong client engagement on various size and vertical clients, which requires the ability to partake in scope of work determination, product pricing, and RFP/RFI responses. The individual works closely with the sales Client Manager and even more closely with the presales resources engaged in the sales process. Also this role requires individual to have a strong knack to Proactively identify potential sales leads/opportunities for their assigned SE’s to potentially increase revenue for Dimension Data Existing Clients or Net New Logo Clients.

What you’ll be doing

Major Duties & Responsibilities

• Develops an understanding of Dimension Data market positioning, vision and solution value add

• Provides sales support and solution expertise on qualified opportunities including all managed service offerings

• Looks for opportunities for other areas of Dimension Data and pursues these with the appropriate Client Manager and technical resources

• Assumes responsibility for technical presales solution design and related justifications within the context of defined and client-approved requirements and constraints as requested by the presales resource

• Works with the Systems Engineers on client proposals and, when assigned, on presales deliverable opportunities (BOM, SOW, Diagram & DDPSA)

• Participates in strategic account planning teams for key clients

• Assures technical competency and completeness of material presented to prospects

• Assists management teams in assessment of additional technical resources

• Contributes to development of best practice and intellectual capital

• Performs other related duties as required and assigned

Education/Qualifications Required

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Accounting, Math, Business Administration, Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent combination of education and experience

• Relevant vendor certifications strongly preferred

Work Experience Required

• ISEs typically have at least 3-5 years of experience in working in the technology space

• Pre-sales support experience is highly recommended
