Infrastructure Engineer – Linux

Grand Circle Travel has an opening for an Infrastructure Engineer who will have responsibility for build and maintenance of our Linux systems as well as GERT–our proprietary Air Travel booking and reservations system. In this role, you will join a seasoned
team that designs, implements and provides operational support for Grand Circle Corp’s production systems and cloud-based datacenters. The Infrastructure Team is also responsible for working with and advising management on the operational status of our systems
including statistics on performance, capacity, availability, failure rates, and other performance metrics.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure 99.99% up time for all critical systems

• Assess and augment existing infrastructure to best accommodate Grand Circle Corporation’s needs

• Provide direction to Second Level System Support

• Provide support to Worldwide Offices

• 8-plus years of direct industry experience supporting and implementing Linux/UNIX/Windows systems

• Experience with and/or certification(s) with administering VMware Vsphere

• Knowledge of VMWARE DR SRM

• Disaster Recovery Experience

• Experience with and/or certification(s) with Microsoft solutions (Active Directory, Exchange, SharePoint and server operating systems)

• Understanding of storage arrays (EMC/IBM)

• Understanding of all aspects of LAN/WAN environments – TCP/IP, subnet masks, routing, SMTP, DNS and DHCP

• Willingness to work in a team environment, yet capable of working independently, and with minimal supervision

• Strong interpersonal skills.

• Security experience a plus

• Networking experience with Extreme Networks is a plus.

• AS/400 administration experience is also a plus.

• Windows scripting experience with VBScript and/or Powershell is a plus.
