The Infrastructure Architect (IA) is responsible for designing and implementing IBM’s infrastructure strategy for the Crime Data Warehouse (CDW) project. The IA will communicate with internal NYPD Units as well as external Agencies to address needs related to CDW data flows. These needs include drafting of Firewall Rules, submission of Change Requests, drafting of Work Breakdowns, and the ability to stay on top of all parties necessary to project completion. The IA is also a capable SUSE and AIX system administrator with a strong shell scripting background, knowledge of storage devices, and experience with backup solutions. System Administration for AIX/Power HA and Linux -50%;Coordination of all infrastructure installs including networking/cabling 25%.

System Administration for AIX/Power HA and Linux
Admin of P-series and X86 Hardware
Administration of the ISAS (BCU) infrastructure (this is CDW)
Admin of the SAN V7000 Storage
Administration of system backups using Net Backup / EMC Avamar and Data Domain
Coordination of data loads for all external data sources
Self-starter and confident to be the leader of your domain and ability to set and achieve realistic goals
Comfortable in undefined environments where you set the direction and leading teams that are matrixed and not in a direct reporting line
Ability to understand different data sources and concepts used by intelligence analysts and crime investigators
Highly organized and enjoys problem solving
