Information Technology Specialist 1

Under the general supervision of the CWS-NS Project Manager (Information Technology Manager I), the Information Technology Specialist I (ITS I) acts as the Project Management (PM) Analyst and will perform advanced technical specialist level responsibilities in support of various IT project management processes, including but not limited to change control management, risk and issue management, communication management, document management, schedule management, process and deliverable management, and release and defect management. The PM Analyst will act as a project leader on complex IT project management activities and efforts in support of the Child Welfare Services – New System (CWS-NS) project.

Desirable Qualifications

In addition to evaluating each candidate’s relative ability, as demonstrated by quality and breadth of experience, the following factors will provide the basis for competitively evaluating each candidate:

Solid understanding of software development life cycle models.

Formal Project management training and/or classes taken.

Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.

Experience with SharePoint.

Proficient written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.

Experience in risk and issue management.

Experience in preparing project status reports.

Experience in developing project documentation, including project management plans, processes and procedures.

Ability to research and analyze all aspects of existing business practices and procedures and make recommendations for improvement.

Knowledge of PMBOK methodologies.
