Our Summer Internship Program

This Opportunity
The mission of Information Risk Management is to provide Syneos Health with world-class services that help it to grow and achieve its business goals. The department does so by ensuring that the advice given, and services provided are strategic, timely, proactive, practical, cost-effective, and meet the highest legal, ethical, and professional standards.

As an intern with Information Risk Management, you will have the opportunity to experience a wide variety of projects in various areas of information technology. You will support a growing global privacy program protecting the personal data and individual rights of a person.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to gain knowledge and insight on security tools and intelligence used to identify, communicate, and provide technical guidance to help resolve technical anomalies and vulnerabilities across the Company’s IT environment.

What You’ll Do

Assist with security data analysis and event tracking

Obtain, review, and analyze reports, logs, and other security-related information from various tools, network, and other computing devices, external intelligence sources, and company employees activities

Utilize security logs and tools to identify vulnerabilities in systems and detect anomalous activity

Assist with proactively identifying gaps in the security visibility provided by current tools and services

Utilizes all available resources to provide real-time intelligence during incident response activities.

Assist with incident forensics, service desk tickets, documentation, and reports

Attend and document meetings and actions, track and process requests for compliance or operational activities

Participate in process reviews with cross-departmental stakeholders

Your Skills & Expertise

Current pursuit of a Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field

Past relevant internship and/or project experience preferred

Knowledge of security tools such as firewalls, anti-malware, Intrusion Detection/ Intrusion Prevention systems (IDS/IPS), Data Loss Prevention (DLP)

Knowledge of information technology and networking Familiarity with common information security standards such as ISO-27000 and NIST SP 800 series

Critical thinking and problem-solving skills

Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines

Excellent verbal and written communication skills
