Information & Content Security Intern

What part will you play?
Warner Bros. Entertainment Inc. seeks an Information & Content Security Intern for the Information & Content Security department. The WB Technology Solutions (TS) intern will serve an integral role for the I&CS Security Operations Center (SOC). This position works in the SOC, supports security services including monitoring and logging systems, monitors the environment for anomalies and threats and responds to security incidents. Additionally, the position provides network and system forensics in support of investigations and global security incident response activities. Lastly, this position will collaborate on enhancements to existing and development on new security monitoring and incident response tools and practices.

• Monitor and review system and network log entries for security events
  • Review security operations web portals for flagged events and evaluate for security incidents.
  • Escalate potential security incidents for review by SOC personnel.
• Write and maintain work instruction and security topic documentation
  • Review, update, or generate new work instructions to document repeatable tasks.
  • Generate security reports to provide executives and system administrators with an understanding of risks and recommendations for known security vulnerabilities.
• Assist with engineering tasks to maintain and augment SOC infrastructure
  • Assist with the deployment and maintenance of SOC server and application infrastructure.
  • Securely configuration operating systems and applications and script common tasks.
• Assist with incident response efforts.
  • Assist with the evaluation of network and system events pertaining to a security incident.
  • Conduct additional searches and evaluation of remote systems to identify attacker actions or insecure servers and services.

What do we require from you?

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Relevant college coursework in the areas of business and/or information systems.
• Knowledge of information security topics including vulnerability, threat, and incident response considerations.
• Previous internships or comparable employment experience preferred.
• Previous customer service experience preferred.
• A strong interest in information technologies required.
• Proficient with Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office productivity software (including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook), and multiple web browsers.
• Technical Knowledge / Skills in the following areas:
  • Scripting and programming experience in more than one of the following is preferred: UNIX, C, HTML, PYTHON, RUBY, PERL and PHP.
  • Understanding of Intrusion Detection Systems preferred (SourceFire, snort preferred).
  • Understanding of firewalls preferred (Palo Alto, Netscreen, Juniper and Cisco preferred).
  • Understanding of commonly used protocols and services is preferred (e.g. SSL, TCP/UDP, WWW, FTP/SFTP, NTP, Telnet, NFS, SSH, LDAP, etc.).
  • Understanding of networking hardware; routers, switches, and load-balancers, particularly Brocade/Foundry and Cisco products is preferred.
  • Understanding of securing operating systems and applications is preferred.
