Human Resources/Staffing Coordinator

The Human Resources/Staffing Coordinator (HR/SC) is the first customer interface in the Portsmouth, NH Human Resources office. The HR/SC administers a variety of human resources activities and programs, including those related to staffing, benefits, workplace safety and company events.

Essential Functions:

  • Advertises employee job openings internally and externally using company’s website, as well as, on the Internet, including job boards, college career services, newspapers, etc.
  • Coordinate with hiring managers on HAP’s Extern Program.
  • Enter candidate information into company Applicant Tracking System.
  • Sorts and reviews resumes and works with management on the forwarding of appropriate, qualified candidate resumes.
  • Schedules interviews for the hiring manager. Schedules additional interviews as needed.
  • Conducts reference checks.
  • Prepare Offer Letters.
  • Conducts New Hire On-Boarding Program. To include:
  • New Hire paperwork
  • Communicate Company History
  • Communicate Policies and Procedures from HAP Employee Handbook
  • Explain HAP Benefits
  • Assign security fob.
  • Name plates
  • Office Tour
  • Submit first report of any or potential worker’s compensation claims.
  • Assists with Benefits Administration during the year and during Open Enrollment Season.
  • Team Leader for HAP NH’s Events Committee.
  • Attend meetings and participate in activities for Safety Committee Team.
  • Assists with termination process.
  • Assists with minor facility/office management issues.
  • Manages projects assigned by the Vice President of Operations.
  • Adhere to HAP’s policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrate honesty, integrity and professionalism at all times.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Must have prior working knowledge of principles and practices of Human Resources.
  • Prior experience Applicant Tracking Systems.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Products, including: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Requires effective oral and written communication skills
  • Requires excellent interpersonal skills; must be able to communicate/interact with employees at all levels.
  • Must be detail oriented.
  • Must be able to multi-task.
  • Must be able to handle confidential and sensitive information and situations with discretion.

Education and Work Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related degree, or equivalent education and work experience
  • One to three years human resources experience.
