Human Relations/Safety/Compliance Manager

Objective

Oversee corporate compliance pertaining to government regulations, human resources, and safety programs.

Responsibilities

The essential functions of the position include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Ensure company is compliant in government regulations including FDA, DOT and OSHA
  • Maintain and keep all employee files current and complete (including DOT required drivers files)
  • Oversee DOT mandated drug testing program
  • Oversee company safety program and ensure compliance with all current safety requirements
  • Human Relations Manager for the company:
  • Ensure job evaluations are completed as required
  • Assist with recruitment, hiring and termination at all locations
  • Establish and maintain company disciplinary procedures and assist Branch Managers with performance issues as needed
  • Maintain, update, revise company handbook to ensure compliance with current company, state and federal policies
  • Annual benefits review
  • Establish and maintain an employee training and orientation program
  • Work with CFO and branch managers to maintain accurate tracking of all employee benefit time
  • Handle all unemployment claims
  • Oversee employee time tracking system and accumulate hours for payroll entry
  • Maintain current local and federally required business registrations
  • Company Insurance claims tracking, submission and research
  • Worker’s Compensation
  • Property and Casualty
  • General Liability
  • Track reimbursements under self-funded dental and vision insurance program.
  • Maintain current vehicle files following DOT requirements
  • Publish monthly newsletter
  • General office support
  • Other duties as assigned

INTERFACE

Internal: Must positively interface at all levels within the company while acting as a positive role model

External: Must maintain positive interface with the customer, vendors and suppliers, and government regulatory offices when required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience : 3 years related experience in human relations, safety and compliance.

SKILLS

  • Ability to effectively communicate verbally or in writing with internal branch staff, customers, safety compliance officials, and other diverse outside parties.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
