Florida International University’s Chaplin School of Hospitality and Tourism Management invites applications for Clinical Instructor or Assistant Professor rank faculty position in the area of Hospitality Lodging.

This position offers a unique opportunity to help build and promote strategically reorganized programs led by the School’s dean and talented faculty in disciplines of hospitality and tourism located in culturally vibrant Miami, Florida, and Tianjin, People’s Republic of China. The Chaplin School of Hospitality and Tourism Management at Florida International University has maintained a consistent ranking as one of the top hospitality management schools in the US and has won international recognition. Qualifications of the successful candidate will reflect expertise, experience, and abilities in the identified discipline, with interest in emerging technologies. Prior teaching experience within higher education including developing course content, assessments, and teaching strategies is preferred. Courses are taught in classroom, online and hybrid modes. Faculty are expected to understand students of diverse backgrounds and to place subject matter in a global, holistic and intercultural perspective. This position is not on tenure track.


Hospitality Lodging:

The successful candidate must meet the following minimum qualifications: (1) Master’s or PhD in Hospitality Management with an emphasis in Lodging, or in a related field. Teaching skills are essential for this position, so an innovative and interdisciplinary approach to teaching is important.


Preferred Qualifications
: Hospitality industry experience in hotels, development, asset management or consulting.
