Position: Healthcare Project Manager (State/Federal Project Exp)

Duration: 1 Year (Contract Position, Benefits Not Provided)

Hourly Rate: $98 W2; $113 CTC/1099

The Department of Information Resources (DIR) requires the services of one Project Manager, hereafter referred to as Worker(s), who meets the general qualifications of ITSAC Project Manager 2 Category , Emerging Technology Type and the specifications outlined in this document for the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS).

All work products resulting from the project shall be considered works made for hire and are the property of the DSHS. DSHS may include pre-selection requirements that potential Vendors (and their Workers) submit to and satisfy criminal background checks as authorized by the Texas law. DSHS will pay no fees for interviews or discussions, which occur during the process of selecting a Worker(s).

Manage FY18-19 Emergency Medical Services (EMS) and Trauma Registry Project. Project start date is 10/1/2017 with end date of 9/30/2018. Project Manager (PM) must work closely with the Trauma Program to ensure required functionality is being met by the vendor.

PM and team will perform an assessment and gap analysis to identify and implement system modifications and possible enhancements necessary to: attain maximum system efficiency and data quality, meet ongoing and changing stakeholder needs, and to provide reports that inform injury prevention intervention practices to address public health needs.

Project will build upon the EMS and Trauma Registries system to improve injury prevention interventions by focusing on continuous quality improvement. This will ensure that the EMS and Trauma Registries data are accurate and complete, can be validated, remain consistent, and comply with national data standards.

Required Skills

  • Experience managing multi-million dollar projects (4 Years)
  • Knowledge of registry functions (4 Years)
  • Experience working in a state of Texas or Federal agency on public health projects (4 Years)
  • Experience producing project documents for diverse audiences (4 Years)
  • Experience presenting technical information to stakeholders (4 Years)
  • Experience monitoring the work of and setting priorities for an IT project team (4 Years)

Preferred Skills

  • Knowledge of National Emergency Medical Services Information System (NEMSIS) and National Trauma Data Bank (NTDB) (4 Years)
  • Managing projects using Maven Commercial Off-the Shelf software system (4 Years)
  • Knowledge of the Emergency Medical Services and Trauma System in Texas (4 Years)
