We are seeking a full time Data Analyst to join our Healthcare Services department. The Healthcare Data Analyst performs research and analysis of healthcare claims, enrollment, and other related data, to report on network utilization, cost structure, and/or quality, has an understanding of data sources, flow, and limitations, and is able to review and provide feedback on work done by other analysts. This position will focus on providing analytic support for our quality measure improvement activities as well as general reporting for healthcare services programs and processes.

Primary Functions:
1.Report and evaluate on all health care services & quality programs and activities
2.Support operational efficiency, quality improvement and pay-for-performance efforts
3.Analyze medical, dental and lab/pharmacy claims/cost data to identify trends & patterns, pinpoint issues and areas for improvement, and recommend solutions & alternatives
4.Design and conduct statistical analyses/modeling and program evaluations, and generate matrices of quality indicators & performance measures and narrative reports
5.Produce ad hoc, monthly, quarterly and annual reports and communicate to a wide range of audiences using visual aids and user-friendly formats & interfaces
6.Summarize and synthesize data and information from multiple sources, interpret and translate findings into meaningful information and actionable reports
7.Produce and support analytical, administrative and efficiency tools for other departmental use and provide on-going technical assistance and consultation
8.Abstract data for and work with CMS, NCQA, OHA/DMAP, OEBB, Q-Corp and other regulatory bodies and partners/stakeholders
9.Assist with HEDIS and CAHPS data collection, validation, analyses and reporting
10.Perform other duties and tasks as assigned

1. Degree in Statistics, Medical Informatics, Health Economics, Sciences, or Public Health preferred, minimum Bachelors’ degree required and Masters’ degree preferred
2. Experience in healthcare research, evaluations and quantitative analyses, with demonstrated ability to summarize and synthesize complex data & information to identify trends & patterns, pinpoint issues and areas for improvement, recommend solutions & alternatives
3. Experience in a health related field specializing in medical information management, health insurance billing & claims/Facets or in electronic medical records systems preferred
4. Ability to meet deadlines and work well under pressure, independently and with a team.
5. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and reporting software, Experience/skills of SAS, modeling and web reporting tools preferred
6. Minimum 2 years’ experience with healthcare data or other large datasets/systems
7. Detail-oriented and demonstrated ability/creativity in critical-thinking & problem- solving
8. Strong interpersonal communication, verbal & technical writing skills.
9. Project a professional business image telephonically and in person.
10. Maintain all record confidentiality and privacy according to HIPAA regulations.
