Graphic Designer

Los Angeles, CA

The BuzzFeed editorial Design team needs a hard-working Graphic Designer for a full-time position in the LA office, to start as soon as possible. We are looking for someone with a passion for graphic design and illustration, along with the ability to work in a very fast-paced environment. Ideal candidates have a deep interest in creating work that people want to share across social media.

Responsibilities:

• Work closely with the BuzzFeed Entertainment team on design elements
• Generate and facilitate ideas for visual content based on knowledge of design and pop culture
• Create headers, infographics, type treatments, collages, and various other design projects
• Work with video producers to create intro graphics/animations and other graphic elements
• Optimize, organize, and prepare files for web
• Work with our Snapchat team to generate ideas and content for our Discover channel
• Create work based on current design trends as well as design styles past and present

Requirements:

• In-Depth Proficiency with the Adobe Creative Suite
• Degree or course of study in design
• Strong sense of typography
• Animation and Illustration skills a super-plus
• Desire to experiment also scores big
• Ability to work independently on multiple projects under a tight deadline
• Great communication skills and a talent for collaboration
• An interest in current events, pop culture, and social media
• Awareness of and experience with social media platforms
• 3-4 years minimum design experience preferred
