Job Description:
Global Principal Investments – Investment Officer

Corporate Strategy, including its divisions Global Principal Investments (GPI), Corporate Development and Corporate Strategy, works closely with Bank of America’s eight lines of business to evaluate and execute strategic initiatives including equity investments, special projects, M&A, divestitures and other strategic transactions.

The individual in this role is responsible for (1) partnering with various lines of business to evaluate new and existing strategic opportunities, (2) acting as a mid- to senior-level transaction professional, working with team members to evaluate, diligence, structure, negotiate, present, execute and manage multiple initiatives across a variety of market sectors, (3) coordinating with internal management and business control partners (e.g. legal, compliance, finance and tax) as it relates to strategic opportunities, (4) developing clear, concise and Board-ready materials related to sector analysis, strategic initiatives or company/transaction analysis, (5) managing strategic relationships and maintaining a current view on market trends, monitoring portfolio company performance (may include portfolio company board seat), and identifying and evaluating potential exit strategies.

Throughout the tenure of the role, the investment officer will gain exposure to senior leaders across the Bank and demonstrate valuation, structuring and transaction leadership. The individual will participate in projects and assume responsibilities across Principal Investments, Corporate Development and Corporate Strategy.

The team is composed of approximately 25-30 employees located in New York, Charlotte, London and San Francisco.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 6-10 years of experience in Investment Banking, Management Consulting or Private Equity
  • MBA or equivalent business experience
  • Advanced financial statement analysis, modeling and valuation skills
  • Knowledge of GAAP accounting and corporate finance
  • Strategic thinking and creativity
  • Extensive experience with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint

Enterprise Role Overview:
Under guidance of more senior staff, sources, evaluates, structures, negotiates, and closes direct investment deals for the Global Principal Investments group. Monitors portfolio company investments and recommends exit strategies. Works independently with limited direction and is evaluated through final results. Typically MBA or equivalent business experience, plus at least 5 years relevant experience.
