Full Stack Engineer (DevOps Engineer)

Description:

We are looking for a full-stack software engineer to help transition the current systems to more modern, scalable set of services, tools, and practices to keep us moving into the future. The ideal candidate knows their way around multiple stacks knowing when and how to introduce (and not introduce) cutting edge technology and practices. If you have a knack for taking older technology and making it the best it can be – you may be our next software engineer.

Responsibilities

Work with a team of product managers, architects, and other full-stack developers to evaluate and position our products to be more maintainable, scalable, and performant. Your time will be split between equally between maintaining the current system/architecture and transitioning the system intelligently to the “next” phase.

Develop and enhance company best-practices for software engineering

Participate as a key member of an agile scrum team to estimate, develop, and field Minimum Viable Products in conjunction with company practices.

Help develop a DevOps pipeline for continuous build, integration, and deployment for the company’s portfolio

Assist estimation and analysis teams to develop a product schedule through initial high-level planning and continuous backlog grooming in conjunction with Product Managers

Ensure compliance with all Engineering Standards, Contract Requirements, and emerging best practices on all projects

. Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related/equivalent work experience

3-5 years of professional software development experience in varied team roles in Agile environments

Outstanding knowledge of software and application design from backend systems through forward UI platforms

Polyglot programmer who can easily switch between front and back end development

Strong knowledge of UI design/development and best practices in jQuery, Javascript, HTML/CSS/SASS, as well as Single page frameworks like React/Vue

Strong knowledge of both .NET Framework as well as .NET Core and related backend frameworks

Deep technical knowledge of microservices architecture and enterprise integration patterns; knowing when to apply them and when not to apply them

Deep technical knowledge of database/datastore principles to include SQL (MSSQL) and No-SQL environments including an ability to troubleshoot and design for system performance and load

Working knowledge and practical experience in the development of system APIs utilizing REST, GraphQL, and/or gRPC.

Working knowledge of continuous development principles, practices, and tools

Good knowledge of applicable data privacy & security practices and laws.

Exceptional analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving abilities

Superior written and oral communication skills.

Excellent architecture and technical support documentation skills.

Strong interpersonal and consultative skills.

Ability to conduct research into emerging technologies and trends, standards, and products as required.

Ability to present ideas in user-friendly language.

Able to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.

Specific experience working in a distributed/remote environment for software development

Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
