Full Stack Developer – The Weather Company

The Weather Company, an IBM Business is looking for Full Stack Developers to be key members of a small, skilled, results-oriented team of developers. The ideal candidates will have experience working with a modern web development stack (Node.js, AngularJS, Cassandra etc.) and cloud-based services. The developers will be responsible for the overall web application framework, development tools, user experience, deployment and testing strategy. Developers will work closely with project stakeholders, in an Agile (Scrum) environment, to gather requirements and understand their needs, conceptualize, as well as facilitate discussions and design sessions to create innovative and user friendly products.

Development of web applications – Follows coding standards, builds appropriate unit tests, integration tests and deployment scripts

Communicates continually with management and project teams – Explains progress on the development effort

Owns success – Takes responsibility for successful delivery of the solutions

Translates designs and style guides provided by the UI/UX team into functional user interfaces, ensuring cross browser compatibility and performance

Contributes to continual improvement by suggesting improvements to user interface or new technologies

Develop products of the highest quality through strict attention to visual and interaction details

TWC

Experience using Object-Oriented JavaScript, various JavaScript libraries and micro frameworks (jQuery, Angular, Prototype, Dojo, Backbone, YUI), HTML and CSS

Extensive experience with HTTP-based data exchange

Excellent understanding of OOP and design patterns

Experience on the Linux environment

Experience consuming and implementing RESTful JSON-based web services

Experience with JavaScript build tools: grunt, gulp, npm, etc

Experience with AWS and Maven

Exposure to DevOps culture and methodologies, Continuous Delivery
