Front End Web Developer

Direct General Insurance, www.directgeneral.com (a division of National General Insurance), is currently hiring for a newly created Front End Web Developer position at our corporate office location in Nashville, TN. This is a full-time position with our company and looking to hire someone immediately.

Primary Purpose:

This individual will assist with the development and maintenance of web design, coding, testing, debugging and implementation as required by project goals. In addition, this individual will manage and coordinate project tasks between web development team and other stakeholders, assist in detailing project requirements and assist with QA of multiple small to medium projects.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Work with developers to develop or review code for desktop and mobile pages/websites
Gather and document requirements/workflow for web projects
Assist to build/review comps, PSDs, and wireframes
Participate in requirements, UI/UX and code reviews
Manage small to medium web projects through full lifecycle, coordinating tasks and communicating info with all stakeholders, including vendors
Update, maintain project tasks in PM tool and report status
Collaborate project tasks with other internal teams and stakeholders

Minimum Skills and Competencies:

At least one year of project management experience
At least one year of business/system analysis experience
At least 1-2 years web development experience in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Web Browser
Passion to keep up with emerging trends and new technologies in the web space
Team player with an ability to communicate well with stakeholders and learn new systems quickly
High School diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience preferred
Any development experience supporting a marketing team is highly desired
