We are looking for a full-time Front-End Engineer to join our team of dynamic leaders and innovators who are passionate about advancing consumer experiences through technology.

Job Description

The Front-End Engineer will be responsible for working with our proprietary digital platform to develop landing pages and page templates with interactive and dynamic content experiences across a multiplicity of use cases. Additionally, you will develop the new SmartStory website and new UI of the platform.

You’ll be using standard technologies like HTML, CSS, and JavaScript on most projects; however, you’ll also have the opportunity to take on stretch assignments to help you reach your personal development goals.

Projects will include the usual QA and bug fixing, as well as providing vision and leadership to build fast, performant and scalable web experiences that effectively support engagement and action. This role requires you to work cross-functionally to meet aggressive deadlines, as well as lead technical task through development, testing and deployment.

You will:

• Write and maintain code using HTML, CSS and Javascript
• Perform Quality Assurance reviews across devices
• Troubleshoot and fix bugs
• Code responsive emails (occasionally)
• Set up and manage Google Analytics events
• Write high-quality code that promotes reuse, readability, and current best practices
• Stay current with rapid innovation in web technologies
• Effectively communicate technical principles to (sometimes) non-technical people
• Work closely with a small team of designers and project owners, generate new ideas, and constantly seek out ways for the team to improve and to create better end-user experiences.

We are looking for someone with:

• 1-3 years of professional front-end web development experience
• Proficiency in HTML, CSS and Javascript (PHP a plus)
• Proficiency with Adobe Photoshop
• Proficiency with cross-browser and cross-device testing
• Proficiency coding responsive HTML emails and optimizing performance across devices
• Experience implementing APIs
• Experience with video in digital platforms also a plus

Details

This position is a full-time consulting position for the first 90 days – a try before you buy experience for both parties – after which, the right candidate will receive a competitive salary offer with full benefits package. Resumes will be reviewed as they come in and ideal candidates will be selected for a brief phone interview followed by a technical skills assessment. Those that do satisfactory on the skills assessment will be invited to an in-person interview and filtered down from there. Looking to hire as soon as possible.
