Role Description:

Responsibilities:

  • Work with stakeholders including the executive, product, data and design teams to understand business processes and support their data infrastructure needs.
  • Provide functional and technical subject matter expertise in various data management, warehousing, business intelligence and big data solutions.
  • Build the infrastructure required for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from a wide variety of data sources using SQL and AWS technologies.
  • Standardize cross-departmental data definitions, KPIs, and calculations.
  • Architect and implement intuitive Kimball-based star schema data models and marts.
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and debug all ETL / ELT processes including complex dependencies across data sources and models.
  • Quality check, unit test, and document all new and existing processes.

Qualifications:

  • * Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or other IT related field
  • 5+ years of professional experience as a Data Engineer / Data Warehouse Developer
  • Expertise in the following:
  • Multiple flavors of SQL (TSQL,PostgreSQL, MySQL, etc)
  • Data Sharding
  • AWS / Redshift Data Warehouse
  • Matillion ETL or other AWS compatible ETL / ELT tool
  • Architecting and building Kimball dimensional models and star schemas
  • BI tools such as Tableau, Periscope data, SSRS, etc.
  • Solid understanding of the software development process, including requirement gathering, analysis/design, development tools/technologies, release/version control, contemporary testing methodologies.
  • Strong analytical skills along with the ability to work independently
  • Demonstrated understanding of data warehouse design patterns and trends such as dimensional modeling, logical data warehouse and cloud data warehouse.
  • Knowledge and experience working with secured and sensitive data and systems such as PII, PCI, and GDRP.
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
