Front-End Engineer

Digitec Interactive is looking for a full-time digital innovator, who shares our vision to change lives through a new evolution of learning apps. If you’re a Front-end Engineer with a high level of expertise making Javascript and HTML5 applications, as well as working on server side development, we want to talk.

We want to find someone who is excited about playing a large part in creating a brand new application, with no legacy code constraints, that thousands of people will use.

In this role you will:

Be a key part of the team developing our flagship application.

Work closely with software engineers, designers, and other developers.

Build features from the design stage through to production, logic testing, client compatibility testing, and document the finished work.

Select libraries and develop proof of concepts for proposed UI and UX solutions.

Design, document and build standalone javascript client applications.

Architect and maintain a robust server side REST API.

We are looking for someone with a meticulous eye and a strong design background in addition to strong analysis, design, development and testing skills.

Requirements

4+ years of experience developing web applications using PHP, Javascript, CSS and HTML.

Familiar with the fundamentals of Object Oriented Programming.

Demonstrated experience with responsive coding techniques and patterns

Strong understanding of cross-browser compatibility issues

Strong understanding of usability and accessibility issues across all device types

Familiar with UX best practices.

Passionate about user interfaces and clean design.

An understanding of current trends and advancements on the web.

Excellent web visual design, layout and typography skills.

Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite.

Experience in mobile interface design, preferably responsive site design.

Well-versed in modern web standards and best practices.

Have a great eye for performance and code quality.
