The Credit Fraud Team helps protect our customers from all aspects of fraudulent activity on their accounts. They do this by leveraging industry standard fraud detection tools, access to real time data and most importantly well honed critical thinking skills, excellent “in the moment” decision making ability and exceptional customer service. Our fraud specialists collectively have saved Nordstrom and our customers tens of millions of dollars a year in fraud losses…Annually!

A day in the life…

Our Inbound Fraud Specialists excel in detecting fraud and delivering top-notch experience for our customers. Candidates should have strong critical thinking skills to identify fraud trends quickly and communicate effectively with internal and external customers. The Inbound Specialist will support store sales associates, loss prevention, service center and Nordstrom Retail/Visa and Direct customers. As a Fraud Specialist, you will have the unique opportunity to be a strong advocate for our customers when they experience fraud, providing education and support. We strive to stop fraud before it happens, and top performers will advance quickly to fraud prevention case work.

You own this if you have…

  • A minimum of six months customer service related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • One year of Nordstrom fsb Service Center or Account Services experience is preferred
  • Ability to handle a high volume of calls with detail and accuracy, while delivering excellent customer experience and advocacy
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, applying critical thinking skills in the detection of fraud
  • Displays initiative, acts pro-actively, and employs creativity to find solutions to complex problems
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office with an intermediate level of proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint. General knowledge of First Data systems is preferred
