Our small team interfaces with sales, marketing, communications, service, delivery, IT, finance, accounting, tax, legal, business development, as well as banks and leasing companies. We seek to solve first principle problems customers have in paying for our products and we ensure seamless availability of compelling solutions enabling our growth. This means having compelling financing available for Model S and X, Model 3, Powerwall, and the rest of the growing Tesla product suite in our stores and on our website.

Description of the Financial Analyst Role – Analytics and Insights role

You will be responsible for translating raw data into meaningful insights that help the Financial Services team make informed decision in every aspect of our day-to-day activities. To succeed in this role you must be inquisitive and exploratory – we want to challenge the status quo and this means using data to truly understand why customer choose to finance a car the way they do. You must then be able to comfortably and clearly communicate this information to both internal and external stakeholders.

What you’ll do:

• Provide the NA Financial Services team with data-driven insights on every aspect of the Financial Services
• Work closely with Partner Managers across NA to ensure they gain critical insights into their local markets
• Collaborate with our banking partners on gathering data that ensures we can quantify the customer experience provided by third-parties
• Translate data into visual masterpieces that communicate complex topics in a simple manner
• Quickly dig into new topics that need to be understood and analyzed
• Be ready to jump onto ad-hoc tasks

What you’ll need:

• BSc/MSc in Economics, Business, Engineering or other quantitative focus or equivalent experience
• Experience in investment banking, management consulting, private equity or analytical role; high-growth analytics or operations experience a plus
• Balance attention to detail with swift execution – we need to do things quickly, and we need to do them well. Balancing those can be challenging, and this should be a strength
• Strong team player
• Inquisitive – you ask the question “why” (a lot)
• Scrappy – you can find data yourself and when it’s not available, find creative ways of providing insights with what you have available.
• Superb Excel skills – you can hold your own in a debate on VLOOKUP vs. Index Match
• Knowledge of SQL and Tableau
