Financial Research Analyst

Summary

MicroHealth is seeking a Financial Research Analyst at our MicroHealth headquarters located in Vienna, VA. The Financial Research Analyst is responsible for providing accurate and data based information in company’s profitability, solvency, stability and liquidity. The Financial Research Analyst will also analyze and research financial information to help make well informed decisions, write reports and monitor financial movements. This is a planned position.

Required Experience

  • Experience with identifying market trends such as ancillary pay, and merit and pay practices.
  • Experience and understanding with identifying the appropriate labor market for various types of positions and surveying the market to determine the salaries that are being paid for like positions.
  • Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets.
  • Extracts and summarizes claims, enrollment, financial, and other data from various sources.
  • Experience with statistics to be able to chart and understand data to conduct proper labor market analysis.
  • Develop project-specific data management plans that address areas such as data coding, reporting, or transfer, database locks, and work flow processes.
  • Confer with end users to define or implement clinical system requirements such as data release formats, delivery schedules, and testing protocols.
  • Perform quality control audits to ensure accuracy, completeness, or proper usage of clinical systems and data.
  • Provide support and information to functional areas such as marketing, clinical monitoring, and medical affairs.
  • Use of electronic health records (EHR) to help with the sorting and storing of medical data.
  • Understanding of disability employment management.
  • Experience with statistics to be able to chart and understand data to conduct proper labor market analysis.
  • Experience and understanding with identifying the appropriate labor market for various types of positions.
  • Experience and understanding in surveying the market to determine the salaries that are being paid for like positions.
  • Experience and understanding establish, adjust, and/or recommend salary changes as they relate to average earnings, earning potential, and earning loss.
  • Experience and understanding with using widely accepted mathematical methods of forecasting.
  • Understanding of how service connected disabilities/diseases impact a person’s ability to sustain and maintain employment; loss of earnings incurred as a result of conditions; potential for future earnings or rehabilitation.
  • Experience and understanding of medical rehabilitative treatment/injury recovery process and evaluations. (Desired – rehabilitative treatment specialist.)
  • Experience working with the Social Security Administration.
  • Strong experience in accounting, finance, economics or business management is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Present oral or written reports on general economic trends, individual corporations, and entire industries.
  • Prepare occupational classifications, job descriptions, and salary scales.
  • Prepare reports, such as organization and flow charts, and career path reports to summarize job analysis and evaluation and compensation analysis information.
  • Perform complex data or cost analyses to evaluate compensation policies.
  • Interpret data on price, yield, stability, future investment-risk trends, economic influences, and other factors to conduct labor market analysis.
  • Monitor developments in the fields of industrial technology, business, finance, and economic theory.
  • Analyze organizational, occupational functions and provide technical information to business, industry, and government.
  • Use data and cost analyses to compare compensation and benefits plans.
  • Self-starter with the ability to streamline functions and passion to learn and grow.

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business administration, finance, statistics or related career field.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience as Financial analyst.
  • Understanding of the Bureau of Labor Statistics in order to perform data mining.
  • Experience with data base user interface and query software such as Data Entry Software, Microsoft Access, O*NET OnLine, and Structured Query Language (SQL).
  • Excellent written and oral skills.
  • Proven financial analytical experience.
  • Strong financial analysis foundation creating forecasts and models.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel is required; familiarity with data query/data management tools extremely helpful (Access, SQL, Business Objects) and presentation skills, and be comfortable interacting with executive-level management.
