Financial Reporting Analyst

Overview

The position reports to the Controller. This role is the right role for an individual who is open to new challenges and able to assist with the set-up of a new environment in fast growing financial services company specialized for credit cards. Responsible for a variety of financial reporting functions that involve the application of a full range of general accounting principles, techniques and data mining skills. Work involves using initiative and judgment subject to managerial review. Experience from banking or finance industry is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

Utilize data-mining skills to extract data and create accurate and timely reports.
To conduct account analysis and research to ensure accuracy
Prepare various reconciliations, schedules and reports for internal use and for audit support;
Complete applicable monthly and quarterly reporting requirements by compiling, reviewing and analyzing requested financial information.
Coordinate accounting projects and initiatives with other members of the accounting and finance team or with other departments
Assist with applicable ad hoc projects and requests

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Finance/Accounting/Computer Science
4+ years of data and reporting experience with experiences in financial services and/or banking industry preferred
Bank and bank product knowledge experience (Credit Card / Loan products accounting is a plus)
Advanced excel skills with experience synthesizing large amounts of data
Basic knowledge of Oracle databases and PLSQL
Experienced in writing SQL queries
Innovative problem solving ability
Excellent verbal and written communication skills for internal and external customers
Ability to meet deadlines
Ability to work independently within a face-paced, entrepreneurial environment
