Financial Analyst Sales

Job Location: Hershey, PA

Summary:

Accounting/Financial Analyst role that mainly supports owned retail stores in Hershey and Times Square (+$60M in Gross Sales). Role has an unquie split between accounting and financial analysis activities and responsibilities. Support The Hershey Experience team through value add analysis led by the Manager, The Hershey Experience. Role will evovle to add additional support for sales accounting/analysis for new revenue streams (example: eComm and D2C actvities).

Major Duties/Responsibilities:

Sales to Cash Reconciliation

  • Provides a comparison of the various THE system (multiple sales systems) generated reports for Owned Retail and reconciles with cash. The areas included in the sales reconciliation are: Retail, Food Service, Wholesale, Attractions, Contract Services, and Times Square.
  • Role will evolve to support additional cash activities for new revenue streams.

Month-End Accounting Activities

  • Provides critical input to overall THE month-end close process (Note that most THE retail store activity takes place in multiple systems outside of SAP and must be manually compiled and entered to SAP).
  • Prepares and posts multiple journal entries including Gross Sales, Trade, Discounts, and Receivables (includes accrued / deferred).
  • Compiles, analyzes and posts various cash entries and related P&L offsets.
  • Analyzes and reconciles key balance sheet accounts including bank reconciliations and other cash accounts.

Other Accountabilities

  • Vault and Petty cash counts, Attractions sales accrued / deferred, and Inventory cost intermatch process.
  • Role is highly involved in THE system upgrades and implementations from the sales perspective
  • Promote enhanced financial acumen within The Hershey Experience organization through collaboration centered on sales analysis, results interpretation, insight sharing, and action plans.
  • Research trends underlying sales performance to assist in planning and achieving financial goals.

Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required to successfully perform major duties/responsibilities:

  • Proficiency to Strong skills in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Working knowledge of SAP and willingness to learn subsidiary systems
  • Microsoft A/X ERP knowledge a strong plus
  • Knowledge of GAAP, general ledger accounting and financial reporting processes preferred
  • Ability to work well with others and as part of a team while handling multiple priorities
  • Works under minimal supervision and serves as business advisor
  • Highly motivated with strong problem-solving skills and organization skills
  • Ability to analyze business processes, identify areas for improvement, and execute process improvement recommendations
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects/areas of responsibilities simultaneously
  • Ability to produce accurate results in a fast paced and constantly changing environment

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

  • BS / BA in Accounting, Finance, Economics, International Business, Business Administration or related degree required.
  • Minimum 2 years progressive experience in finance, accounting, or financial field.
