Financial Analyst I – Intern

POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Assists with the data mining, report development, and financial analysis used to service the mortgage and condo portfolio of Capital Management. Works independently and must be extremely analytical and precise. Should be able to learn quickly database applications including mining, data import, table creation, query creation and macros.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND TASKS:
1. Run standard reports to support collections and operations for mortgage, condo and club.

2. Create and update written standard operational procedures for existing reporting. 30%

3. Administer and complete special projects as requested, including but not limited to ad-hoc analysis and creating of new reporting. 20%

4. Maintain databases to ensure accurate production of standard reporting. Build simple databases and/or adjust existing databases to perform ad-hoc requests. 10%

  • Currently enrolled in college to obtain Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.

  • N/A

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Excellent problem solving skills and muti-tasking abilities.
  • Good organizational skills with extreme attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects/requests simultaneously.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers and supervisors.
  • Carry out any reasonable request by management of which the employee is capable of performing.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this job the employee may be required to sit or stand for extended periods of time. Will be required to bend, twist, reach, push, pull, and operate office machinery. Must be able to lift up to thirty pounds. Specific work assignments may change without notice. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the job.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
The majority of work will be performed in a climate-controlled environment, but may be exposed to inclement weather and varying degrees of temperature on occasion.

WORK SCHEDULE/HOURS:
Schedules will vary depending on business needs, and may entail working nights, weekends and holidays. Must be flexible to work outside of departmental operating hours.
