Financial Analyst, Android Partnerships

Financial Analysts ensure that Google makes sound financial decisions. As a Financial Analyst, your work, whether it’s modeling business scenarios or tracking performance metrics, is used by our leaders to make strategic company decisions. A master juggler working on multiple projects at a time, you are focused on the details while finding creative ways to take on big picture challenges.

The goal of Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) is to create financial insights that make Google better by unpacking complex business problems to reveal opportunities, manage risk and steward scarce resources. Our impact is fueled by a bias to action, a grounding in hard data, courage in advocacy and willingness to put the team before the individual. Platforms Finance is the team that applies the above mission to Android, Chrome OS and Chrome products in coordination with the cross-finance and cross-functional teams.

As a Financial Analyst, your work is used by our leaders to make strategic company decisions. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work on Android, a dynamic platform through which many of our users experience Google. We are looking for a strategic thinker with strong analytical skills to join our team to analyze and advise the cross-functional team. You will work day-to-day with the business leaders in Android, working with them to model out deals/partnerships and helping them make business decisions through analyses.

The name Google came from "googol," a mathematical term for the number 1 followed by 100 zeros. And nobody at Google loves big numbers like the Finance team when providing in depth analysis on all manner of strategic decisions across Google products. From developing forward-thinking analysis to generating management reports to scaling our automated financial processes, the Finance organization is an important partner and advisor to the business.

Responsibilities

Provide decision support and participate in business-facing projects. Work with cross-functional teams and provide impactful analytical insight.
Work with large data sets to build robust and easy to understand financial models with multiple scenarios for evaluating deals and decisions.
Identify metrics that drive the business.
Create dashboards and reports to guide business decisions and report out on the performance of agreements/partnerships.
Make recommendations on agreement/partnerships structures.

Qualifications

Minimum qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree with evidence of quantitative coursework such as engineering, computer science, mathematics, statistics, economics or finance, or equivalent practical experience.
3 years of relevant financial or analytical experience in investment banking/financial services, management consulting or technology company.

Preferred qualifications:

Experience working with large data sets.
Business development or agreement experience.
Knowledge of SQL and statistical tools/systems.
Demonstrated top performance in prior roles with increasing levels of responsibility.
Excellent analytical and financial modeling skills.
Impeccable business judgment and ability to communicate with management team.
