Job Posting Title Financial Analyst

The Challenge The Financial Analyst is responsible for providing Decatur AL plant product costing, variance, inventory and reporting along with extensive analysis. This individual works closely with Plant Leadership Teams and is liaison between the Finance & Operations groups. The Financial Analyst has a keen attention to detail, superior analytical capability and takes an ownership approach with all tasks. No direct reports.

What you will Do

Establish financial goals that align with the business strategy and partner with operations to achieve:

Collaborate with Plant Leadership teams as well as GE Appliances business partners and corporate counterparts.

Define, analyze, and maintain finance reporting needs and specifications, including communication and presenting to team members ensuring proper measurements tracked to goals.

Participate in the build and management of Budgets for assigned plant department and related activities, and reevaluate on an ongoing basis.

Meet regularly with plant leadership team and management to discuss effectiveness of operational efforts and adjust strategies accordingly .

Partner with Plant Leadership and participate in plant production meetings, lean manufacturing, shutdown and other plant functions, including presentation of data and metrics, as assigned.

Owns the monthly financial closing and reporting cycle for the plant:

Ensure monthly recurring estimates and accruals are complete in accordance with GEA accounting policy and practices.

Key contributor to balance sheet reconciliation and reporting.

Preparation and presentation of weekly, monthly, quarterly and year-end reporting packages for manufacturing plants.

Actively participate in design, computation, reporting, presenting, communicating, and continually improving finance reporting and metrics throughout plants and their operations as assigned.

Perform ad hoc projects and analysis as assigned.

Ensure all financial and reporting practices comply with applicable legislation and internal financial policies:

Ensure completion of assigned financial closing activities and reporting complies with policies, practices and timeline.

Partner with Plant Leadership, through development of metrics, reporting, systems and actions are in full compliance.

Review department practices and processes and suggest improvements.

Liaise with other Finance functional areas and the department to support goals and plans, and ensure consistency across all functions.

Lead internal control activities at the plants and assist external auditors by providing clear supporting explanations and documents.

What you need to Succeed

Minimum Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or other related field of study.

2. 5 years of financial experience, at least 3 in manufacturing.

3. Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills (VLookups, pivot tables, charts)

4. Ability to independently research and resolve tasks with minimal supervision with awareness and motivation to collaborate when necessary.

5. Successful working within a matrix environment.

6. Strong controllership mindset.

7. Possess excellent analytical, conceptional, communication and interpersonal skills.
