Financial Analyst

Seeking a Financial Analyst with a strong business acumen and working knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles). This is a challenging position that carries a variety of responsibilities requiring the ability to learn quickly and multi-task. This position reports to the Divisional Finance Manager and is the process owner for financial analysis and reporting, inventory analysis, monthly intercompany accounting and associated reconciliation. Specific responsibilities to include; analysis and reporting of sales and COS, the development of standard costs, review of customer billing, financial statement and variance analysis, monthly departmental reporting, preparation of journal entries, assistance with month end close, and limited cash management activities. Supports the department in the annual budgeting process, long range planning activities, periodic outlooks, and annual internal audit. Position is also responsible for the fulfillment of ad hoc requests to include but not limited to customer billing, external reporting, and journal entry preparation.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Accounting, Finance, or related degree, with a minimum of three (3) years accounting or corporate finance experience

• Experience using Microsoft Excel

• Experience using Microsoft Access, Word, Power Point, Outlook

• Experience creating and maintaining complex financial models and account reconciliations

• Experience interpreting financial statements and translate data into information

Desired skills

• Thorough understanding of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles)

• Experience in a manufacturing environment.

• Experience with a fully integrated MRP operating system.

• Experience interacting with internal and external auditors.

• Understanding of cost accounting principles related to overhead burden calculations and absorption

• Demonstrated ability to calculate and post journal entries

• Detail orientation and attention to accuracy

• Ability to perform either independently or as a part of a team

• Strong written and verbal communications skills
