Financial Analyst

As a Financial Analyst in our New York office, you will be responsible for providing financial reporting, planning, and analysis for the Investment Management, Administration & Firm Investment (ALCO) areas of the firm. You will work under direct guidance and will support the business by providing financial reporting and analysis to aid management in developing strategic business initiatives, new product development and new business assessments.

Some of your key responsibilities include:

  • Developing financial, statistical and/or historical analysis to address a broad range of business needs
  • Preparing financial analyses for capital investment, acquisitions, and other projects
  • Reviewing departmental expenses v. budget and is responsible for providing management information on all areas of cost and revenue as requested
  • Preparing business analysis, including trend analysis and pricing analysis
  • Working with reporting requirements and guidelines of applicable regulatory agencies to maintain records and prepare required financial reports
  • Assisting in the development of business line planning, budgeting and forecasting procedures
  • Reviewing work methods and implements techniques to improve productivity
  • Working with Business Line Controllers to standardize and improve performance measurements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or Economics preferred
  • A minimum of 2 years related work experience – Financial services background preferred
  • Intermediate understanding of financial/accounting principles
  • Excellent analytical, research and organizational skills
  • Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, and Access database
  • Superior client service skills with a strong sense of urgency
  • Excellent oral and written communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
  • Understanding of product, industry and finance trends and concepts
  • Team Player with strong interpersonal and communication skills
