Finance Manager

Overview:

The Finance Manager position holds multiple accountabilities in the areas of bookkeeping, data keeping, analysis and support of the operations and sales teams of Dragonfly Expeditions, Green Heron Gifts & Incentives and Margaritaville Adventures. The position requires a strong background in accounting and bookkeeping principles, knowledge of QuickBooks and Excel, and the ability to respond in a flexible manner to the increasing financial needs of a fast growing, entrepreneurial family of businesses.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage cashflow on a daily basis for all three companies
  • Manage, create, update and reconcile budgets
  • Manage accounting through Quickbooks
  • Manage the payroll of the company, for employees and independent contractors
  • Provide company with financial analysis and revenue streaming overviews, and proactively recommend further courses of action
  • Support operations team with the daily generation of contracts and contract changes in Quickbooks and Salesforce
  • Pay bills and cut checks for vendors and employees
  • Send out invoices and follow-up on payments on a regular basis
  • Secure income by enforcing Terms & Conditions for all three companies
  • Oversee quarterly payments to partnering non-profit organizations and Margaritaville
  • Implement proactive planning and strategizing to optimize profitability and manage costs and expenses effectively
  • Manage cost structures for every product and tour for all three companies
  • Update tariffs at the end of every season and send out new tariffs at the beginning of each new season (starting in October)
  • Meet with CPA for preparation and execution of tax returns including 1099 and W-2s
  • Maintain the financial health of the organization

Candidate Profile:

The candidate will bring a professional, knowledgeable and strategic approach to all finance-related components for our companies, and proactively provide guidance and advice to management on sound finance practices. Strong comfort with pricing negotiation and the ability to provide and maintain exact and detailed follow-up is essential. Comfort with multitasking and working in a fast-paced open office is important. Adherence to defined office methodology and protocol is a must. Experience and interest in the corporate tour business, international travel and the concept of sustainable principles would be a big plus.

Desired Characteristics:

  • Motivation and enthusiasm
  • Accounting experience including the use of Quickbooks and Excel
  • Knowledge of Salesforce
  • Sound financial and analytical understanding
  • Second language welcomed
  • A bachelor’s degree in business, tourism, finance or accounting
  • Prefer a tourism background with knowledge about the industry
  • Interest in sustainable development
