Finance Internship

During your internship you will be assigned special projects related to both the Bank’s liquidity stress testing model and our annual credit analysis of municipal bonds. You will work with both the Bank’s Quantitative Modeling team and Treasury team to develop a new robust liquidity stress testing model. In addition, you will work with the Bank’s Treasurer in analyzing the credit worthiness of certain municipal securities.

Knowledge and Experience to gain:

During your internship with CBB you will gain experience working one- on- one or in groups with the banks Executive and department leaders. Specifically, you will interact and receive guidance from the Bank’s Treasurer, Director of Quantitative Modeling, and Chief Financial Officer. You may also attend senior meetings hosted by our company leaders, which will prepare you for your future in Financial Services. You will learn real world risk management and financial analysis skills, while improving your communication and problem solving skills. More specifically, you will be challenged to create a decision support model that supports critical decisions in the Bank’s risk management oversight of liquidity, as well specific banking industry and regulatory practices and rules. You will also learn about the key financial metrics that the Bank evaluates to determine credit quality of municipal investment securities, while honing your financial analysis skills. Your will have the opportunity to present your model to a group of Finance managers, which will provide an opportunity to refine your presentation skills.

We’re looking for individuals who possess drive and initiative and who is/has:

• Not afraid of hard work and willing to seek answers on your own by taking appropriate initiative

• Currently enrolled in College/University, preferably third or fourth year student

• Strong skills using Microsoft Excel

• Strong educational foundation in Finance concepts

• Good written and verbal communication skills

• Base level understanding of accounting (minimum of one financial accounting course completed)

• Prior internships within financial services a plus

• Preferred Academic Major: Finance or Accounting (other majors in business or economics will be considered)

• Extra-curricular work/volunteer with school clubs/non-profits desired

• Strong interest in the financial services
