Position Summary

The MidSOUTH Finance Coordinator will oversee the financial administration of multiple MidSOUTH contracts totaling approximately $8.38 million dollars(FY2015). The Finance Coordinator has two major areas of responsibility: First is the oversight of the expenditures and income related to all MidSOUTH programs. Second, is to work closely with the MidSOUTH leadership team and Executive Director to ensure accurate financial reporting and procedural compliance in all programs. MidSOUTH programs are grant funded and renewed annually. This position is governed by state and federal laws, and agency/institution policy.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

Assist Executive Director and Leadership Team in creating annual budgets for multiple contracts

Create and monitor financial reports/invoices and payments for each MidSOUTH contract in a timely manner

Create and authenticate quarterly reports based on data collected from various sources

Generate annual match report for IV-E contract

Produce weekly deposits for the UALR Foundation, Bursar’s Office and credit card payments

Monitor all credit card transactions for registration to MidSOUTH programs

Reconcile bank statements for credit card transactions monthly and allocate the costs associated with credit card usage to the appropriate fund each fiscal year

Monitor multiple project expenditures for accuracy with regards to fund number and dollar amount

Generate Labor Redistributions as needed

Coordinate Time & Effort reporting for MidSOUTH

Participate in MidSOUTH’s Leadership Team by reporting budget and expenditure data regularly

Advise Executive Director and Leadership Team on budgeting issues

Establish working relationships with other UALR departments such as ORSP , Procurement and Financial Services

Serve as UALR EPAF alternate originator

Monitor Indirect Cost for each project

Oversee time allocation logs for employees working on multiple programs and allocating the salary expense to the appropriate fund each fiscal year

Review MidSOUTH leasing agreements as needed

Supervise staff as needed

Additional duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Ability to perform complex tasks and to prioritize multiple projects

Must have an extensive understanding of related federal and state rules, regulations, policies, and procedures as well as the ability to interpret those rules

Must have outstanding verbal and written communication skills

Ability to analyze budgetary line items for compliance with budget guidelines

Ability to make administrative/procedural decisions and judgments

Ability to travel in-state and may require occasional overnight travel

Work outside normal business hours may be required.

Required Education and/or Experience

Bachelor Degree in Accounting or business related field.

Preferred Education and/or Experience

Bachelor Degree in Accounting; Previous Banner and BOSS software experience; Previous Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Payroll experience.
