Hotwire is seeking a highly motivated Finance Business Intelligence (BI) Manager to join Hotwire’s Financial Planning & Analysis team. The role will report to the Sr Manager of Marketing FP &A, and will provide technical and creative skills to solve data challenges with enthusiasm. This role will be responsible for the production and maintenance of some of Hotwire Finance’s key reports as well as running and maintaining the forecast process integrating with Expedia’s BI team, Hotwire’s BI team, in addition to the Hotwire Finance team. This position will have the opportunity to interact with different Finance, Analytics and BI teams across Expedia Inc. while having a broad exposure to the business.

The successful candidate will have skills that can solve problems while being tool agnostic. Whether it’s Excel with a touch of VBA (or a lot), pulling data directly from the source database, surfacing information via a Tableau report, automating Hyperion SmartView reporting with Excel VBA, generating Business Objects Web Intelligence reports, building and accessing Microstrategy reports, Qlikview, Hadoop, SQL, or anything else, the Finance BI Manager will be there to help. Whatever tool is the correct one for the task at hand is what the successful candidate should use.

Responsibilities:
Ability to understand recurring Hotwire Finance business processes and make appropriate recommendations for automating time-consuming data retrieval tasks via reports & dashboards

Drives data processes and works to ensure data integrity in order to meet meet the finance and business reporting needs

Implement data processing and statistical forecasting models to support Hotwire Finance

Pro-actively engage with business stakeholders to assess existing and upcoming reporting/analytical needs and maintain regular communication to update stakeholders on progress made on these projects

Develop and generate informative ad-hoc reports

Participate in the development and implementation of new reporting tools and administer those tools going forward (i.e. Tableau)

Act as systems analyst to create requirements for data or data models for BI and engineering teams

Be an expert in finance, marketing, product and device (mobile vs. desktop) data needs for finance and business diagnostics

Troubleshoot problems that team members encounter with Business Objects, Excel/VBA,

Tableau or SQL reports

Liase and act as represenative for Hotwire Finance to other BI and finance system teams at Hotwire and Expedia

Share expertise and best practices with different finance and business functions

Qualifications:
5+ years in a similar role at a technology or e-commerce related business

Undergraduate degree ideally in a quantitative field such as Mathematics, Computer Science or related degree

Expert level knowledge of Tableau, SQL, and Microsoft Excel/VBA

Desirable skills in Business Objects Web Intelligence and Microstrategy reporting for efficiently querying large databases

Demonstrated experience in modelling, analysis, research, and presentation creation

Required experience with financial systems such as Hyperion Essbase/Smartview

Required experience in a production environment setting up processes to be maintainable and scalable

Experience using DB2 and Teradata is a plus

Extremely organized with the ability to work on and manage multiple projects within tight timelines
