Finance and Operations Analyst

PRIMARY DUTIES

Provide a wide range of analytical services across all City departments. For example, administer capital asset replacement plans; update Wastewater rate requirements study; serve as management resource in union negotiations; maintain critical information for budgeting and planning; perform varied related duties.

This position prepares detailed and extensive spreadsheets and analysis. The incumbent will define issues, analyze data and problems, and develop sound conclusions and recommendations; present analysis and recommended courses of action clearly and logically; organize and set priorities; train others in work processes and procedures; communicate clearly and effectively both orally and in writing; rapidly learn complex software; establish and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of City management and staff; exercise and maintain the highest degree of confidentiality.

QUALIFICATIONS

The successful candidate will have three to five years of experience, a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, economics and/or equivalent experience in municipal or government finance and operations. He or she must be a Microsoft Office (especially Excel) power user with demonstrated experience in financial software applications.
