Finance Analyst

Position Summary and Key Areas of Responsibility:

  • Calculate and book journals in HFM for the Intercompany profit elimination journals for inter-company acquired inventory as part of the monthly financial close process.
  • Build relationships with different functions within including sales, manufacturing, pricing and tax teams in order to understand the transfer pricing process and its objectives.
  • Perform the distributor elimination journals for all regional distributor locations worldwide and post the journal in HFM.
  • Perform division allocations for all legal entities and P&L lines that have amounts not booked to a specific line of business as part of the monthly financial close process.
  • Work with business owners for the division allocations to understand their allocation drivers and objectives and suggest changes/improvements to the process as needed to improve the timeliness and accuracy of the allocation process.
  • File periodic Government reports with US Census Bureau and BEA Chamber of Commerce for Total NCR. This includes a variety of quarterly and annual reports on revenues, manufacturing and profits.
  • Responsible for preparation of the various management report packages.
  • Coordinates the SOX internal controls self-testing and documentation of that testing for the consolidations group. Liaises with internal audit to provide them access to the controls testing documentation and answer general questions.
  • Assist external auditors and internal auditors with their reviews of the financial consolidations processes.
  • Strive for continuous improvement of the efficiency and effectiveness of all day to day processes to make them more time efficient and to improve accuracy and quality.
  • Cross train with other consolidations team member to learn their roles & functions to be able to back them up in the event of emergencies.
  • Assist in any other special projects as requested.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or other related Business discipline
  • 2-4 years of related experience
  • Experience with international consolidation accounting, interaction/ presentations with senior management and audit experience.
  • Experience in US GAAP accounting and reporting
  • MS Windows (Excel) advanced user
  • Ability to use a variety of software programs and tools to analyze and work with large data sets and accomplish tasks efficiently
  • Strong analytical skills, ability to research issues in complex accounting structure to resolve problems; Detail oriented, yet able to identify issues and grasp concepts at broader level
  • Must be a highly motivated individual with the ability to work with a variety of individuals in both team and self-directed environments
  • Ability to effectively communicate, both written and verbal, with all levels of management
  • Ability to work within defined time constraints and within deadlines during month end financial close.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with international consolidation accounting, interaction/ presentations with senior management and audit experience.
  • Prior experience with Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) and Smartview tools.
  • Licensed CPA
