Event Manager

The Event Manager has an assigned quota and is eligible for additional incentives based on performance. The Event Manager is responsible for solicitation of new business for La Vista Terrace and Q Kitchen | Bar private dining spaces. The position’s focus will be on social events (weddings, rehearsal dinners, birthdays and anniversaries) and small corporate functions solely through solicitation. In addition this position will manage all wedding room blocks booked through group sales.

The Event Manager is responsible for detailing and being onsite for the events he/she books and ensuring guest satisfaction. Primary efforts are in banquet food, beverage and meeting room rental and will include menu planning, agenda setting, hotel meeting services, hospitality amenities, and special VIP requests. Duties also include contract review and facilitating communication before, during and post event with pertinent hotel staff to ensure a high level of service.

Event Managers also host hotel site tours, client familiarization events, maintain strong customer relationships, participate and may lead event meetings, and other staff meetings, and work as a team member with the sales and events staff. The manager also works closely with an assigned Administrative Assistant and other support staff.

Qualifications

A true desire to satisfy the needs of others in a fast paced environment

Refined verbal and written communication skills

Must be proficient in general computer knowledge

Candidates should be extremely detail oriented and organized

Prefer a four year hospitality degree or equivalent experience

Prefer 18 months hotel and/or social venue experience

Candidates should have demonstrated prospecting and sales skills

Prefer candidates with knowledge of San Antonio social event market and/or proven ability to network and prospect in any market
