Entry Level Technician

Tri-Cities Phone Repair is a fast growing small electronics repair store located in central Richland with stunning views of Howard Amon Park. We are quickly expanding from tablet and phone repair into computer repair, all small electronics repair, small soldering, IT support, and smart home set up. We are looking to add a new technician to our team. Read on to find out if this is a good fit for you!

General Requirements (aka, who you are!):

• Have an amazingly positive attitude. Let’s face it, staring at small pieces all day knowing you hold people’s worlds in your hands can be a bit overwhelming and occasionally boring. You’re some one who can attack the mundane with smiles and a good joke.
• Be willing to learn. There are hundreds of different phone, tablets, and computer types, each with a screw in a different spot. We need some one who is eager to learn, and is willing to ask questions when they don’t understand something. You need to be able to know when you don’t know, and feel comfortable searching for answers.
• Be a teacher . On top of turning yourself into an expert (with our help!) you need to be able to teach customers what you know – we’re the experts, and our customers look to our team to have the answers. You need to feel comfortable telling people “Yes, we can and here’s how!” Or “No we can’t, and here’s why…”
• A passion for electronics. Game systems. Phones. Alexa, Siri, Cortana. Computers. We want to do it all, and we need someone who is as stoked on technology as we are.
• Availability . We’re needy people and want between 20-30 hours of your life per week. Some days are much busier than others, so we’ll need you to be a bit flexible on when you work. Some weekend days required.
• Hustle . Work hard, work right, work fast. Know when to keep your head down and get work done, and know when to step back and take a well deserved break.

General Responsibilities (aka, what you’ll do!):

• Repair phones and tablets . This will be your bread and butter and where you’ll spend most of your time. Cracked screens will cower under your screw driver.
• Some paperwork. It’s okay, though. It’s fun paperwork.
• Repair computers. Software and hardware issues.
• Customer Assistance. You’ll be chatting with customers when they have semi-technical questions and you have answers. We all help customers here, so you won’t be alone.

Technical Requirements:

• High school or equivalent degree required . Some college is preferred.
• Some experience in electronics is required . Taking your toaster apart only counts if you managed to put it back together successfully.
• One year experience working with customers is required .
• Preferred: bilingual. Not required, but we’d like it.
