Entry Level Software Engineer

Hyperion Technology Group, Inc. is seeking an Entry Level Software Engineer who is hard working, eager to learn and committed to growing with our company. Entry-level engineers will participate in multiple aspects of the software development process, design, test, document, deploy and maintain software solutions. As a key member of a small and versatile team, you will have the challenge to produce world-class and scalable software using advance technologies.

Candidate uses and applies basic software engineering technical standards, principles, theories, concepts and techniques associated with C and C++ software development. Candidate will work under general supervision developing solutions to a variety of challenging technical problems as they relate to software development. Candidate will follow established procedures and will contribute to the successful completion of software related milestones associated with specific projects including C/C++ software development, design, code, unit test and formal testing. Candidate will interact with senior software personnel on a situational basis and has knowledge of emerging software technologies. Candidate is required to produce documentation related to the design and release of software artifacts and is expected to give formal and informal presentations to senior software personnel.

Required Skills:

• College course work should include C/C++
• High level of proficiency using software development tools and languages
• Understanding of object oriented analysis and design concepts
• General knowledge of Networking principles and protocols
• Ability to work in a team setting and contribute unique ideas to the group
• Good communication and interpersonal skills

Desired Skills:

• Experience with UNIX/Linux environment
• Experience with Matlab, C#, Qt, C++,
• Holding a current Secret clearance is a plus
• Math classes beyond Calculus such as Differential Equations, Linear Algebra, and Engineering Mathematics
• Internships or cooperative work assignments in an applicable embedded software development environment or DoD environment is a plus.
• Electrical Engineering classes related to embedded systems design

Required Education:

• Bachelor or Master of Science in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Math or Physics (or other hard science) with a Minor in Computer Science; Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.

This position requires the eligibility to obtain a security clearance. Non-US citizens may not be eligible to obtain a security clearance. The Defense Industrial Security Clearance Office (DISCO), an agency of the Department of Defense, handles and adjudicates the security clearance process. Security clearance factors include, but are not limited to, allegiance to the US, foreign influence, foreign preference, criminal conduct, security violations and drug involvement. Employment is contingent on other factors, including, but not limited to, background checks and drug screens.
