Entry Level IT Programmer Analyst

Position Overview and Responsibilities

The Information Technology (IT) department at National Instruments (NI) is looking for an entry-level Programmer Analyst for its corporate headquarters in Austin, TX. A Programmer Analyst is both a software developer and systems analyst who is responsible for delivering and supporting integrated enterprise technical solutions in areas such as Enterprise Resource Planning, Customer Relationship Management, Data Warehousing, and our award-winning website, ni.com, to support NI’s global operations.

As a Programmer Analyst you will learn the business area which you support (Sales, Marketing, Web, Manufacturing, etc.) so that you can design, code, and configure solutions to meet the business’ objectives. You will get to work with other Programmer Analysts and IT Architects in Austin as well as our international development sites in Europe, Asia and Central America to collaborate on solutions. You will also take part in the entire software development life cycle.

Position Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Strong interest in working with technology and programming

  • Programming experience in object-oriented programming and relational databases (Oracle, SQLServer)

  • Ability to clearly communicate in English, both verbally and written

  • Degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or Science and Technology Management

  • Minimum 3.0 cumulative (overall) GPA

    Preferred Qualifications:

  • Exposure to Oracle PL/SQL, Java, XML technologies

  • Experience with packaged software (eg. Oracle eBusiness Suite, Salesforce.com, IBM Websphere Commerce)

  • Prior applicable work or intern experience

  • Knowledge of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and project management methodologies (eg. Waterfall, Agile)
