Entry-Level Front-End Developer

BrandSpin, a growing company in an online, digital marketing and automation space, is looking for someone who knows and loves to work with WordPress. This position allows you to work remotely, however have weekly in-person meetings. You would be assisting us in numerous custom website development projects. Your work will directly impact our efforts with a rapidly growing client list and the long-term success of our company as well as the success of our clients!

Job Description:

The BrandSpin Front End Developer will build Custom WordPress themes from highly customized designs. The right individual for this role will be a motivated and energetic developer who takes initiative, enjoys finding solutions to varying challenges, is detail-oriented, and takes extreme pride in their work.

Experience desired:

• Strong knowledge of and custom web development using WordPress
• HTML, CSS
• Experience with responsive design for creating mobile-friendly sites.
• Knowledge of PHP, JS and JQuery a plus
• Good understanding of SEO principles
• Working knowledge of Photoshop – ability to splice a PSD file and code into WordPress
• Highly self-motivated and directed.
• Keen attention to detail
• Strong Communication and writing skills
• Strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects, timelines and complete tasks quickly

Job Responsibilities / Daily Tasks:

• Primary responsibility will be custom website development (working with the Project Manager and Designer to create solutions for our clients. You will be given detailed specs on each project and be expected to complete them with minimal supervision.)
• Other responsibilities may include:
• Maintaining existing client websites (typically WordPress; keeping up core/plugin/theme updates, bug fixes, security updates, etc.)
• Familiarity with setting up and configuring new websites (usually using cPanel, DNS, FTP, PHPMyAdmin)
• Content management in existing sites (working with us or our clients to update content)
• Converting designs into WordPress templates.
• Answering client questions
• Troubleshooting issues with existing sites we support
• Take ownership of daily project needs and communications.
• Communicate project status and deliverables with Project Manager.
• Accurately record detailed daily time entries.

Hourly part-time position with possibility for full-time. **Must be located in Southwest Virginia**
