Position: Entry Control Officer/Access Control Security Specialist

Job Description: Advantage SCI is accepting applications for Entry Control Officer/Access Control Security Specialists to be considered for employment at Fort Meade, MD. These individuals will provide 24/7 direct support to a government customer on access control security to include verification of personnel entering at customer’s facilities, ensuring that prohibited items are not brought into spaces, and participating in exercises as required by the customer.

Summary of duties include:

• Perform access control duties verifying identities and clearance of individuals seeking access to the facilities; issue and conduct a hands-on badge check to visitors, contractors, or unrecognized persons.

• Operations are conducted 24 hours per day and require shift work.

• Answer telephone calls, acknowledge each person, respond to inquiries or take messages and/or contact appropriate sponsor or POC.

• Ensure that no prohibited items are brought into the spaces.

• Monitor closed-circuit television systems, intrusion detection systems, fire/facility alarm systems, and request dispatch of Government security guard or other designated personnel, as necessary.

• Conduct random Anti-Terrorism measures and participate, if applicable, in Anti-Terrorism/Force Protection exercises at the customer’s site.

• Follow DoD and the customer’s security policies at all times.

• Exercise good judgment at all times and provide appropriate actions to counteract potential security infractions.

• Report to COR improper or suspicious behavior/activity within the work areas, courtyards, or in parking lots.

• Follow chain of command and notify the lead concerning all questions, events, incidents, etc.

• Maintain a Daily Log to record special orders and instructions, significant events and activities, important visits and visitors, customer comments and concerns, security concerns, and other observations pertinent to the management and security of the access control services.

• Construct and write clear, concise, accurate, and detailed reports.

• Provide customer service in a professional manner at all times which includes appearance, hygiene, and communication.

• Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

• Currently possess an active Secret clearance

• Must have a valid certification of completion in PII and Cyber Awareness Challenge from Information Assurance Support Environment within 30 days prior to hire to be considered for the position. To obtain the certificate, visit http://iase.disa.mil/eta/ .

• Successfully pass drug screening test annually

• Possess two (2) years demonstrated security and security administrative experience; three (3) years experience for the Lead Access Control Specialist In addition, the Lead Access Control Specialist must have at least one (1) year of supervisory experience

• Possess additional demonstrated experience with and be familiar with the requirements of DoD 5200.02-R, DoD Personnel Security Program and DoD 5200.08-R Physical Security Program.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.

• Knowledge with automated data processing systems used in support of access control operations for the customer.

• Knowledge of physical security regulations and visitor control procedures contained in the DoDM 5200.01, DoD Information Security Program, DoD 5200.8-R, Physical Security Program 5230.1, Visits of Foreign Representatives, DoD 5220.22M, National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM)

• Possess binocular vision, which may be correctable to 20/20 and be able to hear ordinary conversation at 20 feet.

Working Conditions:

• Able to sit and work at a computer keyboard for extended periods of time

• Able to stoop, kneel, bend at the waist and reach on a daily basis

• Able to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
