Enterprise Applications Administrator – Entry

To provide applications administration support for major enterprise software applications to ensure a state-of-the-art, stable, scalable, and reliable enterprise computing environment that meets the needs of the organization.

Major Duties & Responsibilities

Provides applications administration support for major enterprise software applications.

Duties include:

• Provides architecture recommendations and system design strategies during implementation or system improvement project
• Evaluates application system performance, database performance, system health checks and implements tuning improvements on Enterprise Level Applications.
• Provide Application Administration support including monitoring and problems resolution.
• Troubleshoots and resolves application/system issues.
• Work with support analysts and technical staff to identify and resolve critical system issues such as outages.
• Coordinate and schedule system backups and restorations.
• Identify, evaluate, coordinate, schedule and install application related patches such as Hot Fixes and Service Packs.
• Coordinate and schedule operating system, database and client tools patching and maintenance, and support the migration of changes.
• Setup and configure systems/applications from a technical perspective.
• Perform system sizing estimates. Conduct software and hardware evaluations and provide technical analysis recommendations.
• Interface with software vendors for bug resolution and application maintenance issues.
• Interface with the applications’ users and business units when necessary.
• Install new application software releases and perform version upgrades as needed.

Desirable Qualifications

• Experience in administering and supporting in any one or more of the following enterprise level applications: SAP ECC, CRM and BW, WebMethods, Itron IEE, SAP, uPerform or Web Technologies (Java/J2EE .Net, etc) will be an added advantage.
• Technical knowledge in the areas of IT infrastructure components such as Server, Operating System, Virtualization, Database, Storage and Network will be an added advantage.

Education
: A BA/BS degree from an accredited college or university, with a major in Computer Science, MIS, or related field, or equivalent experience.
SAP specific courses are highly desirable

: Attend on-the-job or offsite training; work extended hours as workload and deadlines require; be on-call to respond to emergencies; work rotating or 10/12-hour shifts as required; and attend meetings and make formal presentations as necessary.
