Engineer Trainee

Responsibilities:
Supports other Engineers and Technicians in Drilling, Completions, Workovers, and Production areas.

Tracks performance of actual vs planned and makes recommendations for improvement.

Performs post operation close out, including review of performance against plan, capture of lessons learned, and develop solutions to problems for improved performance.

Identifies and implements technology to reduce cost and/or add value.

Additional duties and responsibilities, as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills:
B.S. or M.S. Degree in Petroleum Engineering or related Engineering degree

Previous drilling engineering experience, preferred

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

A high degree of computer literacy

Strong interpersonal skills (a team player)

Strong work ethic and demonstrated ability to work effectively and cooperatively with others to achieve goals

Innovative with strong analytical and problem solving skills

50% of time on field location in Alva, Oklahoma area

This staff position, based in Tulsa, Oklahoma will report to the Manager of Drilling and Completions. The Engineer Trainee assists and supports other Engineers and Technicians within the following areas: Drilling, Completions, Workovers, Production. Training is hands on with focus on the oil and gas business in general and this Engineer Trainee is responsible for completion design, engineering and planning on the company’s field developments. Although office based initially, approximately 50% of time will be on-location at the drill-site. The successful candidate should be self-motivated, with a clear focus of the value that effective drilling, completion planning and engineering can bring to the company.
