Job Summary:

The Engineer I position is responsible for but not limited to designing and developing products.

Required Minimum Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary degree preferable in Engineering
  • 1 year experience related to defined job responsibilities or equivalent training
  • Strong interpersonal skills, able to forge internal customer and external customer relationships
  • Ability to comply with existing/quickly adapt to new processes within the organization
  • Service oriented
  • Results oriented
  • Negotiation and organizational skills and ability to work independently

Critical Success Factors:

  • Excellent attendance

Responsibilities:

  • Determines product design criteria and assists with value added/value engineering (VA/VE) analyses
  • Supports customer builds and process, feasibility, design and design change sign-offs
  • Resolves design issues, develops drawings and estimates prototype and production costs
  • Reviews drawings, develops bill of materials and assists with selecting qualified suppliers and materials
  • Assures that print tolerances are manufacturing feasible
  • Performs and documents relevant failure mode analysis

  • Office Environment and Plant Floor (PPE required)

Effort/Physical Demands

  • Constant communication with employees, peers, and management
  • Overtime as required

Health and Safety Responsibilities

  • Must work in accordance with Health and Safety regulations, Company Rules, Plant Rules, policies and procedures
  • Must use or wear equipment, protective devices or certain clothing as required by the company
