Job Details

The Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) Specialist’s main objective is to coordinate, implement, and manage all EDI file exchanges for the MassMutual@WORK Voluntary Benefit products. They are responsible for maintaining the MassMutual file schema, coordinating all EDI testing, implementations, and upgrades. Additionally, the EDI specialist serves as the primary link between MassMutual’s TPA and any EDI trading partner.

The EDI specialist’s day-to-day responsibilities include onboarding new trading partners, analyzing the data exchanged, recording any errors and correcting any failures. EDI specialists work with employees at all levels of the organization to support accurate, proper data exchanges within the organization. They assist with any testing to observe and interpret data received and offer updates to their supervisor, typically a departmental lead or supervisor.

Lead and be the SME for inbound and outbound EDI transactions for business segments within MassMutual Workplace Solutions Analyze electronic data for accuracy Research and root cause analysis Work with multiple enrollment platforms, outside vendors and client systems . Engage appropriate business and technical resources to drive remediation projects . Develop a process for gathering and reporting mMetrics around EDI errors and overall Trading Partner file quality and reporting Identify long – term strategies for growth, improv ed efficiency, and reduced cost making recommendations to senior leadership. Will ultimately be responsible for execution of approved strategy once approved Be an advocate in improving the knowledge and understanding of business Promote awareness and understanding of best practices, policies relative to business applications

Qualifications Ability to engage appropriate business and technical resources to drive remediation projects Strong attention to details Strong communication and presentation skills; able to effectively present complex information clearly across all audiences including senior level business leaders and stakeholders Strong knowledge of health insurance industry Excellent time management, organizational, and prioritization skills Able to work independently in complex and ambiguous environments and situations BA/BS degree or demonstrate equivalent related work experience preferably dealing with databases, ETL and general data management for at least two years. Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to interact professionally and maintain working relationships Excellent written and oral communication skills Superior analytical, evaluative, and problem – solving abilities Candidates must be authorized to work in the US without sponsorship
