The job

  • Supports the EDI team by:
  • Performing the research and analysis of electronic data interchange (EDI) transactional data sets including formats, syntax, rules, and requirements,
  • Assisting with and/or performing the remediation of data interchange issues and errors as directed by EDI management and
  • Serving as a subject matter expert resource for all EDI operations, research, or analysis requests, projects, and tasks; all performed within department policies and procedures, regulatory timeframes and guidelines, and Encounter Data management direction.

You will

  • Perform EDI analysis, research, and documentation of transactional data set requests and issues from internal and external customers as directed by EDI management.
  • Provide subject matter expertise assistance to EDI Developers for issues and questions regarding data interchange transactions.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for internal and external integration channels to the EDI Engine to ensure data interchange meets business expectations and content/syntax criteria.
  • Assist with and/or perform remediation of EDI operations errors or issues as directed by EDI management.
  • Ensure the validity of all EDI analysis and documentation of EDI transactional data sets via business quality control measurements and practices.
  • Be responsibile for literature review, data management, and other related duties incidental to the work described herein.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by conducting research and by attending educational workshops.
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing and sharing related results with other staff.
  • Actively supports the achievement of SCAN’s Vision and Goals.

Your qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, business administration, computer sciences, or related study field with emphasis on information systems or business analysis preferred.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking.
  • Minimum of one year of EDI operations and analysis experience in healthcare industry.
  • Excellent knowledge and demonstrated experience with HIPAA and ANSI EDI standards.
  • Preference will be given to candidates that have healthcare insurance data processing experience including claims, encounters, enrollment, authorization/referral, and pharmacy data.
  • Strong communication and documentation skills.
