The Africa Health Research Institute (AHRI) is one of South Africa’s largest independent, interdisciplinary research institutes. Specification

AHRI is looking for Equipment Driver who will be working for the POP-C study(Vukuzazi) as the Equipment Driver. The main purpose of the post will be to pick up work equipment from Somkhele site to the working site and back on a daily basis. The position will be based at our Somkhele site.

Requirements

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED FOR THE JOB MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

1.Senior Certificate or equivalent

2.Must possess a valid South African Code C1 (10) Driver’s License

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

1.Previous work experience as a driver (Recommended 3 – 4 years);

2.Previous professional working experience in the transportation of goods.

3. Possess and maintain a safe driving record with no serious offenses against his/her name

DESIRABLE AND ADVANTAGEOUS ATTRIBUTES

1.IATA Dangerous Goods Training and Certification

2.Ability to administer First Aid and CPR

3.Advanced / Defensive Driving Training

4. Resident and a member of a homestead from within the Population Intervention Programme Study Area

(PIPSA)

KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED

1.Knowledge of the operations and features of assigned vehicle(s)

2.Good verbal and written communication skills in English and preferably isiZulu

3. Knowledge of the working site
