DIRECTOR,BUSINESSINTELLIGECE & DATA WAREHOUSE

The Director, Business Intelligence and Data Warehouse will be responsible for planning, developing, and maintaining the data warehousing, business intelligence reporting, and application development frameworks, tools, enterprise data warehouse, data marts, internally developed applications and integration solutions. They will work cross-functionally across the Ilitch family of companies, including Little Caesar Enterprises, Inc. to determine and meet the reporting and analytics needs; and manages the EDW/BI activities to ensure timely high-quality reporting, analytics, integration, and development. This person must ensure that Ilitch Holdings has the necessary data, information, and application functionality for ongoing daily operations and strategic planning. The Director will also be responsible for annual budgeting related to the department, producing materials to update senior leadership, as well as all aspects of communications to stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:
Responsible for partnering with senior leadership and devising the overall planning and implementation of Business Intelligence and Data Warehouse strategy, initiatives, and programs.

Support the development of data strategies and the development of a strong data governance framework.

Plan and develop advanced analytics projects as required by customer relationships and meet business needs.

Identify ways that data can be used to re-imagine current business processes, create efficiencies, and drive the business forward.

Identify new technologies and lead the selection and implementation of technologies to support the data integration, data discovery, data quality, data analytics and business intelligence tools.

Lead, develop and grow a team of data engineer, data architect and BI developer colleagues, contributing to their technical and professional development.

Track overall and detailed project statuses and regularly communicate status to senior leadership.

Act as a liaison between the business and IT, including driving consensus across multiple teams, ensuring requirements are well-communicated, traceable and aligned to the overall business or solution vision.

Responsibility for management of IT resources including internal and external third party, onshore/offshore across requirements definition, design, testing and deployment of changes to production for Data Warehouse.

Work closely with business subject matter experts and leaders to define, improve, and streamline business processes as part of implementing new Data Warehouse products.

Build and maintain significant external relationships with service providers, customers, vendors and industry peers. Contact with information technology product and service companies is also made on periodic basis.

Manage large, complex data warehouse projects from start to finish, complying with SDLC processes. Translate requirements into data solutions leveraging industry best practices following standard SDLC methodologies

Lead, extract, transform and load (ETL) design and development activities for data warehouse solutions. Establish architecture standards and guidelines for ETL designs.

Provide advice on data model and data architecture designs for data warehouse solutions. Support data replication design and build activities for data warehouse solutions.

Develop and maintain standard systematic automated deliverable scheduling (monthly, quarterly, annual). Supplemental Job Functions:

Mentor and guide department colleagues on requirements, design, toolsets, expectations, and interactions with business users on specific deliverables.

Collaborate in implementation of security and handle security requests related to the dimensions/objects in the data warehouse.

Other projects and duties as assigned.

Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, applied statistics, information technology, Computer Science required. Equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.

Minimum of five (5) years’ experience designing and developing data warehouse, as well as experience with extending the data model including Adding Dimensions, Measures, fact Tables, Cubes, Perspectives, Calculated measures, Sets, developing OLAP cubes, preferably in Microsoft SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS) with advanced skills in Microsoft SQL servers and with extract, transform and load (ETL) design and build solutions.

Minimum of five (5) years’ experience managing an IT team of 10 or more professionals including hiring, coaching, development and performance management. Ability to motivate IT teams to produce quality materials within tight time frames and simultaneously manage multiple projects.

Ability to effectively partner with all levels of the organization, act as a strategic consultant with senior management, provide thought leadership, lead and mentor others, drive results, provide process expertise, have proven influencing and persuasion skills, and make challenging decisions across highly complex, ambiguous, multi-dimensional opportunities.

Experience reporting project status, scope changes and critical metrics to all stakeholders, including senior leadership, preferably in an Agile environment.

Exceptional leadership and organizational skills; ability to manage, mentor and inspire direct report colleagues.

Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment through strategic planning, prioritization, and task delegation.

Experience with data warehouse, data virtualization architecture and BI technologies (such as MicroStrategy, Looker, Tableau, PowerBI).

Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills with the ability to exercise mature judgment; ability to identify non-obvious solutions to complex problems.

Experience managing vendor selection and contracts.

Superior written and verbal communication as well as the ability to communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly language.

Experience other BI tools (Microsoft, Cognos, Business Objects, Tableau, Qlikview)

Working Conditions :
Ability to manage and participate in an on-call rotation performing weekend and after-hours support.

This is a full-time IT position which requires after-hours calls and maintenance of computer applications. You will work with and manage IT staff that support a 24 X 7 IT shop which can include nights, weekends and holiday calls and troubleshooting.

Works in a normal office environment where there is no physical discomfort due to temperature, noise, dust and the like.
