Position Overview:
Responsible for the Information Technology businessapplications and infrastructure strategy implementation for IEC Electronicsthat utilizes solutions that align with and further the business’ strategicgoals for the company. Working for andclosely with IEC’s Chief Information Officer (CIO), the Director of ITApplications and Infrastructure is responsible for the management of the ITapplications and infrastructure team, oversees the business systems programmingand support services and provides oversight for company-wide IT Infrastructure (Network,Servers, Desktop, Mobile Computing and Voice & Data Communications).

Accountabilities: Build and lead a respected IT team that isexceptionally customer-oriented and delivers business value Coordinate and supervise the daily activities ofthe members of the team. Provide necessary guidance to IT and user resourcesinvolved in applications and infrastructure initiatives. Managing contractors and ongoing contractualarrangements with staffing vendors to ensure “elastic” staffing needscan be met to quickly ramp up and ramp down projects in a Just-In-Time fashion Oversee the planning and deployment of additionsand changes to IEC enterprise system ensuring appropriate components are inplace to support business requirements Manage the Help Desk system as it relates to IT requests(tickets) including establishing priorities, assigning work to staff,monitoring, and providing KPI reporting Develop and implement effective processes toidentify, escalate, troubleshoot, triage, report and track production issueacross Enterprise Drive root cause analysis and trend detectionand reporting to proactively prevent issues across applications and systems Ensure adequate process and tools are in placeto monitor performance of IEC’s IT Infrastructure Ensure the configuration and tuning ofenterprise monitoring and instrumentation system(s) to efficiently detectexisting issues and predict future issues based on trends Oversee IEC’s production systems environmentincluding effective disaster recovery procedures. Improve the performance, security, redundancyand availability of systems Perform analysis and capacity planning andmaintain performance models on all applications and systems Coordinate acquisition of and contracting forhardware, software, and information technology services (including maintenance)according to IEC’s IT vendor management policy Oversee technical projects in alignment withorganizational goals Ensure standardized, mature SDLC, changemanagement and release management processes Direct and contribute to the activities of theanalysis, design, development, testing and implementation for new development projects,application software changes and version upgrades Support all internal/external audits and ensuretimely and effective response for all requests for information on a prioritybasis Conduct research and development in ITInfrastructure and related technologies. Recommend strategies for improvingIEC’s IT infrastructure. Consult with administration, departmentmanagers, and operations staff to exchange information, present new approaches,and to discuss system solutions. Proposesoftware solutions to accomplish the company’s business objectives. Hands-on contributions to programming efforts,as warranted

PositionQualifications:
MinimumEducation: Bachelor’s degree in computer science related degree. MBA or amaster’s degree in CIS or similar discipline preferred or equivalent experience.

Minimum Experience: A minimum of 10 years of technical leadershipand proven success in managing highly technical teams.

Skills/Knowledge/Experience: Expertise in leading and managing a IT staff(15+ direct/indirect reports) Broad understanding of a spectrum ofinfrastructure technologies including network, hardware and operating systems Knowledge ofNetwork infrastructure, protocols (LAN, WAN, TCP/IP, VPN, etc.). Knowledge ofVirtualization platforms (VM). Knowledge ofshared storage (SAN). Knowledge ofdatabase technologies (SQL Server, Oracle). Advanced knowledge of enterprise applicationintegration and ERP systems – architecting and implementing ERP integrationsolutions, especially financials, using industry best practices. Experience with evaluating, deploying andsupporting commercially off the shelf solutions Knowledge of Software-as-a-Service and cloudtechnologies a plus Project leadership / Software DevelopmentLifecycle (SDLC) Experience with implementing and running aService Desk operations, ITIL a plus All aspects of Vendor Management inclusive of negotiation and administration of serviceagreements and contracts. Knowledge of relevant security, regulatory andcompliance matters as they relate to system design (PCI, SOX, FDA, IFARS,DFARS, etc) Microsoft Stack: SQL Server, SQL ServerReporting Services, SharePoint, SQL Server Integration Services, Programming: Java, Linux, Apache, MySql, PHP,C/C++, C#, LINQ, GIT, Team Foundation Server (TFS), Pick Basic, IBM universe Must be a highly effective communicator bothorally and in writing. Proven ability to build, manage and foster ateam-oriented environment. Excellent leadership, management andinterpersonal skills.

Computer Skills: Intermediate Microsoft Word skills as evidencedby the ability to perform all of the basic functions as well as create moderatelycomplex documents containing tables and graphs, and ability to mail mergedocuments, apply page setup functions (margins, page numbers, footers,headers), create an index and/or table of contents, use search & replace,print labels and envelopes. Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills as evidencedby the ability to perform all of the basic functions as well as the ability touse workbooks, link data, create and edit charts, change page orientation, addheaders and footers, filter and sort lists, format data, insert rows, enter andsort data and produce graphs and charts. Intermediate Microsoft Powerpoint skills asevidenced by the ability to apply all of the basic skills as well as use andprint notes, changing color schemes, changing fonts, bullets, slidebackgrounds; adding a table, changing a slide layout, adding a chart, creatingorganizational charts, and search & replace.
